See Something? Say Something!
Nations Lending needs Your help.
As an employee of Nations Lending, you may see things that concern you, or alarm you. Our employees are everywhere we operate and do business. You see and hear things all the time. And where it affects our company, we want to hear from you.
Nations Lending provides several means for employees to submit reports regarding workplace concerns. Whether you believe that a company policy is being violated or a crime is being committed, we want to make it easy for us to hear you. For that reason, we provide three different means for submitting an employee report.
What is an Employee Report?
Simply, an employee report is a notice sent to the executive leadership of the company by an employee. This forum is available to current employees who have identified a concern or issue and are not comfortable with discussing it with their immediate supervisor, or who have reported the issue to their immediate supervisor and no action has been taken.
What is the Proper Subject of a Report?
Employees should report any and all violations on any of the following subject items:
- Violation of Nations Lending’s data security guidelines, or a data breach, or suspected data breach, including loss of information, especially consumer data.
- Violations of business conduct guidelines or policies dealing with conflicts of interest, self-dealing, or abuse of company resources.
- Violations of the Gift & Entertainment Policy, or instances where an employee accepts a gift from a vendor, supplier, or customer.
- Instances involving the exchange of a thing of value with a settlement service provider in exchange for referrals, or other quid pro quo arrangements.
- Workplace violence, threats of violence or intimidation, and physical or sexual harassment.
- Discriminatory actions against consumers or employees
- Actions creating a hostile work environment.
- Employee theft, dishonesty, or fraud.
- Violations of confidentiality.
- Any violation of the Company’s Code of Ethics or other guidelines identified in the Employee Handbook.
How Do I Make a Report?
Simple, just choose one of the options available for submitting your report and provide us the information to investigate the situation. The more details and specifics you provide, the easier it is for our investigative team to look into the issue.
Will Someone Know I made a Report?
Generally, no. Reports are confidential, and you have the option of submitting reports anonymously as well. However, all Reports are investigated, and an investigation may cause the subject of a Report to become aware that an investigation is taking place. If you were the only other person who had specific knowledge of an issue, then the subject of the investigation might presume that the Report came from you. If you have concerns about your identity being exposed, we would prefer that you discuss the matter with the investigation team, who will work to protect your confidentiality, rather than avoiding making a Report.
What Will Happen When I Make a Report?
Reports are investigated by a group of senior executives of the company. Once your report is received, it is categorized according to the type of complaint and area affected. Information to corroborate the report is processed and reviewed. Depending upon the type of complaint, it may be necessary for interviews to be conducted. In some situations, outside experts may be brought in to assist with the investigation.
Will I Find Out What Happened Because of my Report?
Perhaps. Hopefully, whatever issue is giving you concern will be resolved and you will see your Report improving our company. In some situations, confidentiality issues may cause the outcome of an investigation to be less obvious. If your Report was submitted anonymously, then the investigation team will have no way of contacting you to provide you information about the outcome of the investigation.
Will I be Penalized Because I Made a Report?
Nations Lending has a strict anti-retaliation policy protecting employees who submit legitimate reports about violations of Nations Lending policies and procedures. If an employee is being retaliated against by the subject of a Report, we want to know immediately!
An employee will not be penalized simply because a Report could not be corroborated, or no action was taken. If it becomes apparent that a Report was submitted to harass, embarrass, or intimidate another employee, that may become the subject of an additional investigation. False reports are a violation of company policy. For more information, see the Employee Handbook.
Are Reports or the Results of Investigations Made Public?
Generally speaking, no. Investigations are conducted with the most confidentiality possible. In some situations, a number of individuals may need to be interviewed as part of the investigation; but we ask that employees avoid discussing the existence of any investigations that they are aware are underway to allow the investigating team an opportunity to conduct its work.
Is Making a Report my only Option?
No. Employees are encouraged to bring matters to the attention of their immediate supervisor, their supervisor’s manager, or the personnel of the HR or Compliance Departments, as appropriate. The Report hotline is merely available as one means of communicating information to the administration; particularly when the employee has already tried to address the problem through regular channels without success or is concerned that they might suffer retaliation for doing so.
